VOLUNTEER WITH JOYRIDES!
Volunteers are THE reason Joyrides exists!
We have no employees and are all non-paid volunteers, who give our time, talents, and passion for a common goal – to save homeless animals.
We all work full-time jobs - we have families and responsibilities just like you! But, like you, we have a passion for the animals!
We have a variety of volunteering needs including picking up a particular dog or cat from the shelter, transporting pets back and forth to the vet clinic or boarding facility, assisting at adoption events, and helping raise awareness across social media!
Here are a few ways you can help:
Adoption & Special Events (NJ/NY):
We attend several events a year and need volunteers to represent Joyrides!
Transport (Houston and NY/NJ):
Pick up and return pets for adoption events and vet appointments. Pick up new dogs and cats from the shelter.
Graphic Design (remote):
Design t-shirts, flyers, event invitations and other promotional materials.
Photography (NY/NJ):
Photograph adoptables for their online profiles and social media;
Social Media (remote):
Love building your brand online? Why not use those talents to save lives! Our social media team is always in need of additional support!
Fundraising (remote):
Do you have a flair for planning events, or have some innovative ideas to raise money? We need you!
Dog Training & Dog Walking (Houston and NY/NJ):
Dogs may spend some time at one of our vet clinics due to medical issues or they’re waiting for a foster home to become available. The dogs love a walk or a cuddle session. We also need help assessing the dogs’ personalities & level of training. Any positive reinforcement training you can provide is welcomed!
Administrative Help (remote):
There’s a great deal of help you can provide at your computer from the comfort of your home.
It’s a long list but includes: answering email inquiries, tracking information of each dog, helping with newsletters, coordinating with volunteers and fosters, screening potential adopters, processing applications and more!
